Battlefield 3 Operation Firestorm Strategy
In this guide, we will be covering the Operation Firestorm Battlefield 3 map, revealing strategies which are particularly good in Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch as well as going over the important spots on the map.
Battlefield 3 Operation Firestorm – Buildings
Like many Battlefield 3 maps, Operation Firestorm consists of a central building, a few satellite buildings, and plenty of boxcars.
The main building is the site of a lot of action, but given its large size, many obstacles, and number of respawn points, it can be hard to stay alive in here for long. If you do stay inside, you might want to use the INVR (infrared weapon optics) as it helps spot people who may be creeping around the building.
If the enemy team is camping in this main building, note that many of this buildings walls are destructible. Use C4 of the Support Kit or rocket launchers from an Engineer kit to blow away the walls and get rid of most of your opponents’ cover. This will force them out of the building.

Operation Firestorm – Boxcars
There are also quite a few roofs you can climb on top of at this map. They are actually quite high and have good views, so getting up here can be quite effective. By far the best roof to climb on in my opinion is the one that looks over the boxcars.
When you get up on this roof, you do not want to worry about hitting people running on the alleyways, but rather look off the side of the building down on the boxcars. You are looking “with the grain” so to speak in that you can see in between the boxcars.
These little passageways tend to be crawling with players, and there are few places for them to hide when you are on the high ground. You are also very close to the players from this position, and there are few spots on the map which you can be hit from when looking off this portion of the roof (the player would have to be in front of you or on another roof to take you out).
From here, picking off players in the boxcars is very easy. You can also spot players from the roof, jump off, and move in after them and take them out from behind. You can quickly rack up a lot of kills on this roof if the enemy is concentrated in the boxcar area.
The best part about using these roofs is that they are very hard to climb onto. There are only two ladders to get up to this particular building and they are very long. Whenever players try to climb up this to get you, they often get shot down by teammates as it is nearly a 6 or 7 second climb to the top which leaves the person undefended.
Battlefield 3 Operation Firestorm Team Deathmatch Strategy
In short, I recommend either sticking to the building with an INVR or jumping up on the roofs. If you are good at close-quarters combat, you can have some success by hanging out in the boxcars, but you will inevitably get surprised from behind due to people respawning in this area.
